FTCC vs. Thomas Nelson College (View More)

Amarilis Floyd scored 29 points and had a record-setting day rebounding as the Fayetteville Tech women opened 2017 with a 70-45 win over Thomas Nelson College on Saturday at Reid Ross Classical High School.

In addition to the 29 points, Floyd grabbed a team record 12 rebounds, six offensive and six defensive. She also sparked the team defensively with six steals. Offensively she hit four 3-point baskets.
Joining Floyd in double figures was Aundraya Doyle with 11 points. Mercedes Mangram and Kourtney Cherry led Thomas Nelson with 15 and 12 points respectively.
The win pushed FTCC over the .500 mark for the season at 7-6.
Monday’s game with Central Carolina Community College has been canceled as CCCC has canceled the remainder of its schedule for this season.
The FTCC women will resume play on Tuesday with a rescheduled game at Cape Fear Community College at 7 p.m.
The FTCC men play again today at 3 p.m. at Bryant Stratton College.
