FTCC vs. Johnston CC (View More)

December 3, 2016

SMITHFIELD – Former Westover star Kylah Saylon erupted for 24 points to lead the Fayetteville Tech women to an 80-41 win over Johnston Community College on Saturday.
The victory improved FTCC to 5-3 for the season heading into today’s road game with the University of Mount Olive at 3 p.m.
Joining Saylon in double figures for FTCC were Aundraya Doyle with 12 points and Khadija Oliphant and Brandi-Paige Castell with 10 apiece.
“We were able to get her the ball,” FTCC coach Eric Tucker said of Saylon. “She had a mismatch on her young lady and had a good game inside.”
The win was Fayetteville Tech’s second over Johnston this season. “We knew from the previous week we should handle them well,” Tucker said. “They were undermanned.”
Tucker said the Trojans don’t have any time to celebrate. “We’ve got a tough week ahead,” he said. “We can’t get too high on a win or too low on a loss. We’ve got to keep playing.”
