Coming back home didn’t offer a solution to the losing streak for Fayetteville Tech’s men Wednesday as they dropped a 119-90 decision to Davidson County Community College at Reid Ross Classical High School.
The loss was FTCC’s fifth straight, although the Trojans did win a scrimmage with the University of North Carolina junior varsity Monday that didn’t count on FTCC’s record.
FTCC coach Brian Hurd was pleased his team was able to stay close for awhile with Davidson Community, one of the top NJCAA teams in the country. “We exhausted all our energy in the first three or four minutes of the second half,” he said. “We hit a wall and ran out of gas.”
Kenny Walters scored 23 points in the losing effort for FTCC. Trevor Lewis scored 14, Kei’juan Major 11 and Malik Livingston and Tristan Rodriguez 10 each.
Markeise Crutchfield led Davidson Community with 25 points.
FTCC, 4-8, returns to action Saturday back on the road for a 3 p.m. game with Patrick Henry Community College.
